The Consequences of Stress On a Child Develop

Emotional Abuse, Neglect, and violence Emotional abuse is behavior that damages a child’s emotional development or sense of self-esteem. It may consist of pressures, continuous condemnation, as well as withholding love, support, or guidance. Neglect is a pattern of failing to provide for a child’s basic physical and emotional needs. Neglect is a very common type of child abuse, and according to Child Welfare Information Gateway, more children suffer from neglect than from physical and sexual abuse combined. (  (Parenting Should Not Be Hard You deserve Support., 2016) .    As a child growing up my very best friend was exposed to a tremendous amount violence because her parents fought all the time, plus, they were Alcoholics. She was beaten almost every day because her mother was angry at her father, and her father abused her because he was angry at her mother. Lynne was an only child, her only outlet was coming to my house, and playing with my siblings, at th...

Children Globally Need Access To Healthy Water

Generally speaking, children need healthy water in order to thrive, water is needed for our organs to function properly, children need proper brain function for learning, children need to live in clean sanitary conditions in order to live healthy, and without diseases related to water, but most of all children miss school, and some do not live long enough to make it to school because they die before age five due to contaminated water   . Nonetheless, it imperative to me that children have decent hygiene and hand washing techniques in order keep them from spreading killer germs to each other. Children and parents also need the use of sanitary toilets, to keep from distributing diseases      others, especially for young females. In addition, girls are more likely to pick up diseases from contaminated toilets, than males. In developing countries children do not have access to clean water. One in five children die from diseases, that  water carries. Seven ...

Birth Experiences

F irst, I would like to say all of my children are born on holidays, all born naturally except my last child. My first born is a boy, and I delivered him on February 22 which is George Washington’s Birthday, and in New York City it celebrated as a holiday, and the stores have a lot of sales. I happened to be in a department store when my water broke, plus I was alone. Nevertheless, I was out alone because it was nowhere near time for delivery. He came in my seventh month, and he came so fast, he was born in the department store.  Back in those days if a person delivered their child other than the hospital. When taken to the hospital, the child has to stay in the room with mom. The reason for this is because hospitals were afraid that babies born other than hospital may contaminate the Nursery To make a long story short, I was 18 my husband was out of town on business, so here I am with a baby close to five pounds, but scared to death, I had the nurse call my parents, and th...

Letter To My Colleagues

Dear Colleague, April 18, 2016 Thank you colleague, the last several weeks I have had the best time of my life, and I am not just saying it to make everyone feel good. I have been in so many classes in this field, but never one as unique as this class.  For instance, everyone has been, so friendly, building up each others confidence, giving positive feedback,  offering positive support to each other, been there to give each other positive feedback, support, and encouragement, including Dr. E. However, in the field of Early Childhood Education, parents, educators, administrators, and all other persons involved are vital in this early learners beginning years. Furthermore, we are all interconnected in one way or another. Each of us must stay abreast of the changes, which come about in Early Childhood because everyone has a different role in most cases, but it is still Early Childhood Education. The key to it all is picking your colleagues up, when their down an...

DEC Code of Ethics and NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment

In my opinion, all of these codes play an instrumental role in me being a super practitioner and advocate for children. I chose three, but they are all very important especially keeping a safe, and healthy  environment for children, fostering relationships with parents, seeing the warning signs of  deliberate neglect and many others.  Furthermore, I am going to try to be the best of the best and follow each and every code to the letter, watch out for changes in these codes. I will always be willing to accept constructive criticism as well suggestions from peers and colleagues. However, if I am unable to accept these things then I need to find improvement or not be in the education filed.  First and for most are the children in my care, so I know I am going to be able create an environment and activities serve everyone in my educational Environment
