A description of the three items I would choose
In a case of a disaster, as stipulated, I would choose the following three things to leave with. These things are dear to my heart and represent my family culture
Jewelry Box
    My family portrait (pocket size)
    My Bible
How I would explain to others what each of these items means to me
Our family cherished the Jewelry box because my great-great-grandmother who was from Ireland made the jewelry box by hand as a little girl. My family portrait is of all twelve siblings, my mother, father, and grandparents. The family portrait has a pictorial representation of each of my family members in one shot, the portrait has a graphic representation of some of my great-grandparents. The family portrait signifies and expresses my cultural heritage and family diversity. My Bible serves as a source of inspiration and hope for a better life. Nonetheless, my Bible is of great importance because we are a family that believes in GOD the Father and his son Jesus Christ as our LORD and Savior. The Bible and unconditional love are the glue that holds this family together. We all try to live by the bible and its teachings, but there are trying times where we all fall short in practicing as we should. Still, the Bible also represents a large part of our values, diversity, and culture.

My feelings if, upon arrival, I was told that I could only keep one personal item and have to give up the other two items I brought with me.
Such a position will perplex my being. Choosing one particular item against other personal items will be a strenuous activity for me. However, in such a case I would gladly choose the family portrait over the other personal items. Choosing the picture doesn’t demean the significance of the other personal items. I prefer the family portrait to the other elements since they create a sense of belonging to my family members and my cultural heritage. This picture ensures that I remember that in my endeavors and dispositions, my family should always come first. The Bible is actually the most important, but when I arrive where I am going, I can purchase another. In fact, I would never be able to get a portrait like the one I have.
Any insights I gained about myself, my family culture, diversity, and/or cultural differences in general, as a result of this exercise
This exercise has accorded me commendable insights about myself and my family culture. As an individual, a time comes when you may have to choose what matters to you most as was determined in this exercise. What you choose has the most significance in your life, and various reasons can explain that. In my case, my family culture of togetherness and inseparability made me want the family portraits over the other personal items. This scenario establishes the impact the family culture has on an individual member of the household. The various family cultures have led to different diversities within a given cultural setting. Conclusively, the diversities in people or families should be appreciated rather than used as an opportunity for bias or prejudice.
